Baseball season is right around the corner, and fans will see a couple of new things at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field this season.
The Ole Miss marketing department released they will have “Solo Cup” races at Swayze Field this season, featuring red, blue and yellow solo cup costumes.
Michael Thompson, senior associate athletics director for communications and marketing, released a picture of the costumes via Twitter Monday, and it spread like wildfire.
Head coach Mike Bianco also spread news of a new look for Ole Miss baseball this spring when he tweeted a picture of a new uniform Monday afternoon.
The new uniform is white with navy lettering for the name and big navy lettering outlined in red for the number. It also has the Nike emblem on the left sleeve and the SEC logo on the right sleeve.
According to a tweet from Chase Parham of RebelGrove.com, this new white jersey is a lighter fabric for easier coping with the warm Mississippi spring weather. It will join the other uniform options of red, navy, pinstripe and grey for the Rebels.
