Chancellor’s House Celebrates One Year Anniversary with Special Guests

The Chancellor’s House, the luxury boutique hotel which holds a prime spot on the historic Oxford Square, celebrated its one year anniversary and ribbon cutting on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
To celebrate the first year anniversary of the much-anticipated Chancellor’s House hotel, the Chancellor’s House owners and staff, the Oxford Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, Supertalk Radio, and city and state officials came together for an anniversary ribbon cutting. 
“It’s kind of odd to do a ribbon cutting after you’ve been open for a year,” said Weston Arnsten, Chancellor’s House general manager. “We thought it might be fitting because we didn’t do one when we properly opened, and we are still in our infancy here.”
As usual, the hotel was abuzz with activity and glamour. Guests for the hotel and ribbon cutting alike were greeted by pleasant doormen, the hors d’oeuvres provided by the hotel’s dining staff were beautifully prepared and delicious, and Supertalk Radio broadcasted live from the hotel’s dining room.

The hotel staff, which includes dozens of Oxford and Lafayette County citizens, were pleased with the turnout and support from the community. 
“We want to bring value to Oxford and the people here,” Arnsten said. “I’m amazed and thankful to be a part of Oxford. We have a beautiful hotel. I’m proud of it, and most importantly, we have an amazing staff.”
Among the guests who came out to celebrate the anniversary and ribbon cutting were Oxford Mayor Robyn Tannehill and Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann. 
“We are honored to have the Chancellor’s House in Oxford,” Tannehill said. “We pride ourselves in being the tourism capital for this part of the state. Having places like the Chancellor’s House to boast about the accommodations, the fine dining and the service that you can get here is huge for us.” 
Secretary Hosemann, a frequent visitor to Oxford and Ole Miss alum, expressed equal gratitude to the Chancellor’s House for their investment in Oxford. 
“It’s so important for the culture of a community to have a place like this,” Hosemann said. “Oxford is a special place and this city has grown based on people willing to come here and invest their capital here. We are particularly glad that this state has a place like Oxford.”
