Chancellor Dan Jones Speaks with NewsWatch about IHL Decision

Chancellor Dan Jones sat down with NewsWatch 99’s Sudu Upadhyay to discuss the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning’s decision to not renew his contract.
Jones, whose contract was not renewed last week by a 9-2 vote by the board of trustees, told Upadhyay, “I’m at peace with the decisions that I and other leaders have made about financial matters at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. For a complicated organization in a poor state with a lot of poor people who need healthcare, I am very satisfied with the financial stability of our medical center. If you compare us to similar medical centers across the country, public medical centers in poor states, our financials measure up very well to our peers.”
