A lot of us grow up and we grow out of the literal interpretation that we get when we’re children, but we bear the scars all our life. Whether they’re scars of beauty or scars of ugliness, it’s pretty much in the eye of the beholder.

My good friend and HottyToddy.com contributor TJ Ray, as reported in an earlier feature, is an avid wildlife enthusiast, making the short trek to Clear Creek and other landings on Sardis Lake to photograph just about anything that moves.

In a photo shoot earlier this week at Sardis, he stumbled across an interesting gaggle of geese that display signs of serious inner-beauty. Outer beauty? … well, that indeed is in the eye of the beholder.

“While I was shooting pelicans at Sardis Lake, a great honking heralded the approach of a flock of geese. Their call may be cacophonous, but they are beautiful in flight,” Dr. Ray said.

“You’ve all heard of a gaggle of geese,” Ray said. “Perhaps what we have here a giggle of geese. My wish is that everyone who sees them will adore these beauties as much as I do. Could it be that the Lord was amused then? I hope that’s the case.”

“Ah, but it’s nice out there,” Dr. Ray added.

As our seasons spin by and through TJ’s camera lens, Lafayette County and the rest of the world will be allowed to share in this great artist’s passion; not the least of which is an incredible arsenal of hummingbird photos coming soon to a computer screen near you.
