Ole Miss ASB to Host “Everybody’s Tent” Saturday
Hotty Toddy Everybody! This weekend the Associated Student Body will once again set up the ASB Everybody’s Tent for tailgating in the Grove before the Texas A&M game. Last time we had over 600 guests come and visit! Invite all your friends and family to enjoy the new fall weather in the name of food, fun, and Ole Miss Football.
Game days in the Grove are a rite of passage to Ole Miss Culture. Though the voice of students often say, “I love the Grove, I just don’t have a tent” making even our brightest students feel excluded from the tailgating tradition. This is where ASB wants to step in and make everybody feel comfortable and welcome to join the fun – heck – Mississippi is the hospitality state.
Our goal is for Everybody’s Tent to become a regular stop for guests from every student organization on campus. Think of it as a social representation of the entire student body itself; a beautiful mix of interesting cultures and identities from across the United States and abroad! This creates an opportunity for us all to come together as one University, and to do it on the treasured grounds of the Grove.
As for the many students who already have places they visit in the Grove on game days, we would like you to visit Everybody’s Tent too! Our location will be in the grass in front of the Union, tucked as close to the Walk of Champions arch as available. Look for a big white tent and our “University of Mississippi” and “Everybody’s Tent” banners.
From 3:30 PM until 6:30 PM on Saturday, October 12th, we will be serving hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages for everybody who visits the tent. ASB cabinet members will be under the canopy to pass out “I Am A Rebel” game day stickers. Please feel free to take pictures in front of the tent, upload them to social media, and remember to include #EverybodysTent.
You are welcome to help by forwarding this letter, extending the invitation throughout your social network, or by making a short announcement on our behalf at your next club meetings. Follow us on Twitter @OleMissASB for all the latest updates.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this letter. We would love to see you in the Grove, underneath the canopy of the ASB Everybody’s Tent.
