ASB Election Results Announced, Run-Off Set for Thursday

After a close election, the Associated Student Body announced the results of the 2014-15 executive branch election Tuesday afternoon.
A runoff election will be held for ASB president with candidates Jessica Brouckaert and Davis Rogers. Rogers received 42.1 percent of the votes in Tuesday’s election. Brouckaert received 29.8 percent and candidate Channing Lansdell received 27.1 percent.
Brouckaert, a junior public policy major from Ocean Springs, Miss., is running on a platform that focuses on parking ticket Reb-Alerts that will notify the student when he/she gets a ticket, golf cart rides for disabled students, and working to carry on the legacy of Ole Miss.
Davis, a junior physics and biology major from Jackson, Miss., also wants to create parking ticket Reb-Alerts, in addition to enacting Rebel Day to celebrate Ole Miss students, and revitalizing Rebel Rides.
The runoff election will be held Thursday, Feb. 20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on myOleMiss. The results will be announced that day at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Student Union.

Savage thanks her supporters on her Facebook page, stating that she has been “humbled by the amount of support.”
“It is my goal as AG, to not only promote civility, respect, and dignity for each person during the election season and through ASB decisions, but as a campus leader each and every day,” wrote Savage.
Junior political science and business major Emerson George is the new ASB vice president. Sophomore nursing and integrated marketing communications double-major Heather Neilson will be secretary. Junior accounting major Madison White will be treasurer and junior biochemistry major Jared Akers will be judicial chair.
