Jeff Berry and Jay Hughes launch FilterFiller.com

This is how Jay Hughes, Oxford attorney, alderman and busnessman, describes his decision to become part of the management team of https://www.filterfiller.com/.
“A buddy of mine called me with a new business idea. His call happened to coincide with me having just paid $4,000 to replace an AC unit because I hadn’t changed the filter in forever and it burned up the fancy little motor. The AC repairman also taught me that I actually don’t know the answer to everything — particularly three questions:
• When did I last change my air filter?
• My filter sizes are what and what?
• AC filters should be changed every how-many-days?
I also thought about how much time I waste hunting for a store that has my filters in stock.
That’s when Hughes and entrepreneur Jeff Berry started https://www.filterfiller.com/, which launches today.
The company delivers fresh, clean filters to the customer’s front door, automatically, every 90 days. But Hughes and Berry say the key feature of their service is that the high-quality filters are custom-labeled for each air-return in the customer’s house.
“We do it for about the same price as you pay when you actually go to change your filter,” said Hughes.
The filters are delivered with handy trash bags to prevent dust bunnies from escaping.
To take advantage of this service, starting today customers will simply sign up on the easy-to-navigate Web Site. “Enter your information just once and you’ll never need to worry about your AC filters again,” explains Hughes. “They show up like clockwork, and all you do is change them.”
Partner Jeff Berry orginally thought of the idea after seeing the humerous ads for home-delivered razor blades. “Everyone has to change their AC and furnace filters,” Berry said. “But nobody likes doing it, or doesn’t struggle with remembering when they last made the change. Throw in the problem of remembering proper sizes, finding the right filter in stock and then storing the bulky items taking up shelf space and this service seemed like a no-brainer to me.”
Berry explains that all the filters will be rated highly within the industry rating system and that customers will have choice in their selection. “People in Oxford enjoy patronizing brick and mortor businesses and we want our local supporters to know that this is a brick and mortor business run right here in town through the hard labor of my family and Jay’s,” Berry said with a broad smile. “We certainly hope that the business will take off regionally and nationally but we’re committed to honoring our Oxford roots. That means we’ll eventually hire local employees — hopefully many students — who will help us pack the filters in boxes for delivery.”
