During this first bye week of the 2014 season for the Ole Miss Rebels it’s good to look back at how the team has succeeded  through the first three games.
Ole Miss, now No. 10 in the nation, have sprinted ahead to a 3-0 record for the second straight year.
Senior quarterback Bo Wallace has been on fire since the first half of the Boise State game in Atlanta. He threw for one touchdown in the first half — and three interceptions. After returning from the locker room in that game, Wallace has been making all the right reads and eating up defenses with his on-target passes.
This season Wallace has shown no signs of the shoulder injury that plagued him last year when his tosses noticeably lacked zip.
“It’s (his shoulder) definitely 100 percent,” Wallace said recently. “It feels great. I definitely feel stronger than I did a year ago.”
This past weekend against the Ragin’ Cajuns, Wallace compiled a 300-plus-yard masterpiece in just two quarters.
The Rebel coaches and players have noticed how other teams have keyed on No. 1 receiver Laquon Treadwell. Wallace has taken advantage of that overload by targeting other receivers, distributing the ball down the field and consistently moving the chains.

Some of the receivers who have stepped up this year include Vince Sanders, Cody Core, and Evan Engram.
Sanders had a great game against Louisiana Lafayette, grabbing two spectacular touchdown passes and running  up 210 yards.
Moving forward, it’s vital that the Rebels keep teams honest with a solid running attack and balanced passing. The tandem of I’Tavius Mathers and Jaylen Walton have been dynamic out of the Ole Miss backfield this season.
Along with a stout defense anchored by CJ Johnson, Robert Nkemdiche and Deterrian Shackelford, the Rebels look poised to enter the tough SEC section of their schedule, starting with Alabama.
But first, Memphis.
