Donations Can Be Made Through UMAA Foundation

From Ole Miss Sports Information Desk

Ole Miss Athletics has established a fund to assist Rebel football player Derrick Wilson as he seeks custody of his 11-year-old sister.

Wilson, a junior offensive lineman from Greenville, Miss., is seeking to become the legal guardian of his sister, Fallon, following the death of their mother, Jelks, in January 2012.

Individuals wishing to assist Wilson with his legal fees and related expenses may do so through the UMAA Foundation by calling 662-915-7159. Due to IRS laws, donations to the fund may not be considered charitable contributions and therefore are not tax deductible.

In order to maintain Wilson’s eligibility with the NCAA, all donations should be made through the UMAA Foundation and not directly to the Wilson family.

Wilson transferred to Ole Miss from East Mississippi C.C. in January and saw action in three games this fall in his first season with Rebels.
