Oxford's Infrastructure Upgrades Continue

Ward 1 alderman Jay Hughes sent the following update on various projects around town that may (and probably will) affect your commute. Keep in mind, the City is hoping to finish up these infrastructure projects before the students and their cars return. Good luck out there, Oxonians.
South Lamar (Belk Blvd. to Highway 7): This week, Lehman Roberts will be repaving the entire road and bicycle lanes. Work should be finished before the weekend.
Office Park Drive at Highway 7 South (near FNC): Monday through Wednesday there will be no through traffic on Office Park Drive, as the road will be completely blocked at the FNC office area for the relocation of a main power line.
North 14th Street (between Handy Andy and Jefferson): The curbs and sidewalks will be replaced next week (August 4-8) after the city installed new water and sewer lines this summer. Once that is completed the road will be resurfaced.
Old Taylor Road: Appears to be on schedule for the road to open on August 15th.
Highway 6 at Jackson Avenue: We are just getting started… Stay tuned.
Both west-bound lanes of Jackson Avenue near the old Cannon Motors site will be closed Wednesday morning until about noon. West-bound traffic will be directed into the turn lane.
