Oxford's Paris Nails Moves to New Location, Expands Services
Step into Paris Nails and Salon now located in the Eastgate Shopping Plaza on University Ave. and get the fashion-forward feel of Paris, France.
Owner Julie Ann Ho named her salon after the renowned French City of Lights “because all the best luxuries come from Paris”, she said.
“I want my customers to have the best in all that we do, and I want them to feel relaxed and refreshed when they are in my salon,” Ho said.
Ho migrated from Vietnam in 1992 to become a U.S. citizen. The family moved to Oxford in 2001.
Paris Nails was formerly located in the Kroger Shopping Center and with the move, Julie Ann greatly expanded the services offered and changed the name from Paris Nails to Paris Nails and Salon. The name change reflects the expansion of services which now include manicures, pedicures, hair services, facials, massages, and spray tanning.
“We serve the whole family in our bright, new facility,” Ho said.
Often called the Larson’s Shopping Center, Eastgate Plaza is one of Oxford’s oldest shopping centers. Paris Nails and Salon’s new storefront was renovated by contractor Ronnie Cummings, who worked with Julie Ann to fully develop her design vision.
“Mr. Cummings was wonderful, so helpful; we have a wonderful facility, thanks to him and his hardworking men,” she said.
“My mother had many options for a new location, but she wanted somewhere close to her old location because she didn’t want to inconvenience her loyal customers,” Kathy Nguyen, Ho’s daughter, said. “She cares a lot about her clients and staff members and she always takes their opinions in consideration when it comes it big changes like this.”
Paris Nails and Salon has seven employees, including Ho’s daughter, Kathy, who is an engineering student at Ole Miss. Another daughter, Susie, is an engineer with Exxon Mobile in Baton Rouge, La., and a son, Dan, who recently graduated from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. All three children have contributed work in the family’s business throughout their high school and college years.
Staff members are licensed for manicures, pedicures, massages, hair services, and other services. The new facility has six pedicure spa chairs, ten manicure tables, a three -tation hair salon, a facial/waxing room, and an area for spray tanning. The business is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
There will be a grand re-opening of the salon at its new location on Friday, June 20.
