Neckbones to Murder Mediocrity at Proud Larrys' Friday
Oxford’s immortal rock delinquents The Neckbones are reuniting at Proud Larrys’ this Friday, June 6. Those unfamiliar with one of Oxford’s most legendary bands may ask “What do they sound like?” The answer is “like a switchblade through a hobo.”
Nah, they’d never stab a hobo.
But if you like real rock ‘n’ roll with heavy doses of passion, Proud Larrys’ will be the place Friday. Tyler Keith, Forrest Hewes, David Boyer, and Van Thompson will bleed all over the joint.
“There might be a couple of special guests,” Keith said in an interview today from Miami. “I think it’s gonna be fun.”
The Neckbones have only reunited to play a handful of times since breaking up in 1999, but Oxford now gets another chance to hear their classics: “Crack Whore Blues,” “It Ain’t Enough,” “Superstar Chevrolet,” “Art School Dropout,” “Cardiac Suture,” “Good Bye Ramona,” “You’re All Winners,” “You Smoked It,” and more.
Opening the show, all the way from Germany, is Redondo Beat.
