The Rebels doubleplay combo must be clicking this weekend.

This weekend will be the sixth time that Oxford University Stadium / Swayze field will host a NCAA tournament regional.

Ole Miss ended the season with record of 41-18, just shy of earning the club a spot as a national seed host. The Rebels won the SEC’s western division and were only two games behind the Florida Gators for the overall SEC crown.

On Memorial Day, during a lunchtime selection event, the excited Rebel players, coaches and fans found out that they will welcome Georgia Tech, Washington and Jacksonville State into town this weekend.

Let’s take a second to look at these teams.

The two-seed in the regional are the Washington Huskies with a record of 39-15-1. They’re ranked 13th in the nation with an RPI rating of 24 and the record of 21-9 in the Pac-12.

The Huskies are 19-16 in eight previous NCAA appearances.

As a club, Washington finished the regular season hitting 281 with a .981 fielding percentage. Brian Wolfe leads the team with a .361 batting average with five home runs and 35 RBI on the year.

On the mound, the Huskies are led by Tyler Davis who is 10-2 with an ERA of 1.75.

The third-seed in the Oxford Regional is the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets with a 36-25 overall record and mark of 14-16 in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets also have an RPI of 32.

The Yellowjackets have the arms — do they have the bats?

This is GT’s 30th all-time berth of the NCAA tournament. The Yellow Jackets surprisingly won the ACC tournament on Sunday.

On Friday at 3 p.m. the Jackets will take on the Washington Huskies. The last time these two teams faced each other in an NCAA regional was 1997 in the Starkville, Miss., regional.

Georgia Tech Coach Danny Hall’s club comes into the regional hitting .279 with a fielding percentage of .973. Daniel Spingola leads the team with a .328 batting average, with 43 runs scored, 80 hits, 3 home runs and 36 RBI.

Jacksonville State is the fourth-seed in the regional coming out of the Ohio Valley conference with a 36-25 record. The JSU Gamecocks won the 2014 Ohio Valley Conference.

JSU comes into Oxford hitting at a .294 clip with a fielding percentage .970 on the year.

Griff Gordon leads the Gamecock’s with a .376 average, with 96 hits, 7 home runs and 49 RBI.

The Oxford Regional is matched up against the Louisiana-Lafayette Regional The two-seed in that competitive regional is the Mississippi State Bulldogs. If the Bulldogs can beat the Ragin Cajuns of Louisiana Lafayette, Ole Miss would host a Magnolia State Super Regional with the winner advancing to Omaha for the College World Series.

Could it get any better than that?
