The Daily Crime Report for May 15
The Oxford Police Department investigated four wrecks, issued 14 traffic citations and made six arrests, on the following charges: public intoxication; one headlight, no tag, no driver’s license and second-offense DUI; two shoplifting; disorderly conduct; and simple assault. Oxford Police also responded to reports of two alarms, animal complaint, two ambulance assists, three disturbances and a 911 hang-up call.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents Wednesday, May 14: Trespass at the Inn at Ole Miss, larceny at Khayat Law School, burglary – dwelling house unlawful entry – no force at Beta Theta Pi fraternity house and larceny-bicycles at Stockard Hall.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15:
– Burned food activated smoke detector, 1405 East Jackson Ave. Apt. R, at 12:41 p.m. Wednesday.
– Faser Hall – Workers activated a second floor hallway smoke detector, at Faser Hall, at 6:04 a.m. Thursday.
