Celebrate Cinco de Mayo Oxford-style
ARRRRIBA! Happy Cinco de Mayo!
In the United States, we celebrate Mexican heritage and culture by drinking margaritas on May 5. But the real Cinco de Mayo, primarily celebrated in the Mexican state of Pueblo, commemorates the day that the Mexican Army defeated the French in 1862. It’s not Mexican Independence Day (that’s September 16).
So, in honor of this most joyous of pseudo-American holidays, here are Oxford’s own Cinco de Mayo-themed watering holes:
