The Daily Crime Report for May 2
The Oxford Police Department investigated seven wrecks, issued 24 traffic citations and four arrests, on the following charges: speeding and second-offense DUI; public drunk and possession of fake ID; public drunk and domestic violence; and careless driving and first-offense DUI.
Oxford Police also responded to three suspicious activities, four ambulance assists, four disturbances, two suspicious people, 911 hang-up call, false pretense, auto burglary, lost property, three alarms, two petit larcenies, identity theft, welfare concern, two suspicious vehicle, three motor vehicle assists, grand larceny, trespassing, code enforcement violation, improper parking and property damage.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents Thursday, May 1: Disturbance – loud/unnecessary music or noise at Minor Hall, driving without headlights on Fraternity Row, speeding, disturbance – fight at The Ridges, vehicle stop, drugs – possession of paraphernalia on Rebel Drive, two disturbances at Farley Hall, traffic assist on Coliseum Drive, larceny, motor vehicle accident at E.F. Yerby Center, accident with property damage at Women’s Terrace –Lower Lot, vandalism to vehicle at the Golf Course and a hit-and-run accident at University Place.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call Thursday, May 1: – False alarm, at the Honors College, at 1:58 p.m.
