OPD Makes Arrests on Sexual Battery and Malicious Mischief

Investigators arrested Jesus Martinez, 32 of Oxford, on one count of sexual battery. Martinez was arrested Saturday at his home after officers responded to the Ole Miss Motel for a victim who had been sexually assaulted. Officers spoke with witnesses and processed the scene, and identified Martinez as the suspect. His bond was set at $25,000.
Investigators arrested ChaKita Alford, 24 of Oxford, on one count of felony malicious mischief. She was arrested Saturday, after the victim identified her as the person who damaged his car and signed the charge against her. Her bond was set at $5,000.

The Oxford Police Department investigated two wrecks, 17 traffic citations and six arrests, on the following charges: careless driving and first-offense DUI; possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana and possession of a Schedule 4 narcotic; possession of a Schedule 1 narcotic; and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Oxford Police also responded to seven alarms, three disturbances, suspicious person, suspicious activity, two ambulance assists, harassing phone call, malicious mischief, recovered property, two welfare concerns, code violation, 911 hang-up call, grand larceny and motor vehicle assist.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents Monday, April 28:
Traffic assists on Hill Drive and West Road, harassment off-campus, larceny – burglary – auto parts and accessories at the KA Commuter Lot, motor vehicle accident at Vaught/Hemingway Stadium, hit-and-run accident with injury at Oxford-University Stadium, motor vehicle accident on Fraternity Row, credit card fraud – first offense at Kincannon Hall, suspicious person at Northgate Apartments and drugs – possession of paraphernalia at The Ridges.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents Monday, April 28:
– Water flow alarm malfunction, at Natural Products, at 10 a.m. – Call canceled en route, at 1003 Jefferson Isom House, at 2:27 p.m.
