Arts Council Seeks Artists to Perform at Fringe Fest

Published

on

Fringe FestOn August 1 and 2, Oxford Mississippi will open its doors, theaters, and other less traditional spaces to its first ever Fringe Festival called the Art-er Limits.
This festival will focus on performance and performing art, interactive workshops, and ticketed-only tasting and food events, but visual artists are welcome as well. There will be several different and usual areas for display and exhibition.
Applications are now available here for artists who would like to apply for performance or exhibit space.
“This festival will be like nothing North Mississippi has seen,” says Wayne Andrews, director of the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. “This is not for passive art. These are performances, interactive events, and limited-seating tastings. We are looking for local and regional artists who would like to be involved and share their crafts in non traditional spaces.”
For more information, contact Wayne Andrews at (662) 236-6429 or by email at YACDirector@gmail.com or Outreach and Education Coordinator Stacey Sanford at OutreachYAC@gmail.com.
YAC is a nonprofit arts organization in Oxford, Mississippi housed inside the Powerhouse Community Arts Center. Founded in 1975, YAC remains committed to a diverse offering of artistic and cultural opportunities.
