A few days after Cuonzo Martin left the University of Tennessee as head basketball coach, The Vols began quickly searching for a replacement for coach Martin.
One person that UT is talking to is former Ole Miss Rebel player and coach Michael White.
White is the head basketball coach at the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. He is 37-years old and has a record of 74-31 over the past three years, bringing a winning tradition to the long-suffering program along with a Conference-USA season title back to Rustin, LA.
If the Vols and White are able to come to a deal, it’ll bring White back into the SEC. White established his coaching credentials as an assistant under under Andy Kennedy for several years.
ESPN reportedĀ on Sunday that Tennessee was interested in White and was going to talk to him about their coaching vacancy.
White’s father, Kevin White is the Athletic director at Duke University.
