The Ole Miss Lady Rebel basketball team opens up play this evening in the SEC tournament against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30p.m., and can be seen on Fox Sports South.
Ole Miss (11-19, 2-14 SEC) enters the tournament after a 73-71 overtime victory against the Auburn Tigers on Sunday afternoon. Senior Valenica McFarland scored 27 points on Sunday against the Tigers. McFarland has now scored 20 or more points in 12 games this season.
The Rebels earned an SEC tournament birth for the first time since the 2011-12 season. If Ole Miss should advance to the second round, it will be the first time since 2010, when they defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Arkansas (19-10, 6-10) rolls into the tournament after defeating the Missouri Tigers 72-70 to close out the regular season. The Razorbacks are led in scoring by Jessica Jackson who averages a team-best 16 points per game.
Tonight’s matchup will be the second time these two teams have faced one another this season. Ole Miss dropped the first game to Arkansas by the score of 68-65 in Fayetteville, Ark.
If the Rebels win tonight they’ll advance to play the Auburn Tigers on Thursday night 7:30p.m.
