Vintage, Antique, or Crafty: Sugar Magnolia Offers It All
Sugar Magnolia Antique Mall offers something for everyone, literally.
With more than 100 vendors selling everything from antiques and furniture to jewelry and clothing, even Ole Miss crafts, appeal, jewelry and decorations.
Leah Christman, her sisters, Molly and Jane and, mother, Sarah, first opened the antique mall in 2007. “Our grandmother has been a great influence,” Christman said. “She always had antique stores, and she worked in a museum, so antiques have always been a big interest for all of us.”
This family’s passion for antiques is expressed in the impeccable manor in which the store is maintained. The huge variety of antique furniture, clothing, jewelry, and artwork is all in mint condition. “We try to carry a little bit of everything,” Christman said. “We’ve got candles, food, jewelry, and home accessories, so it’s not just antiques. We try to have something for everybody.”
Vendors from all over Mississippi and across the South occupy booths that line the halls, and each “room” offers a different style.
“I started out owning my own bead store, but it took up so much of my time that I could not focus as much on making jewelry,” said Anne Thompson, a local jewelry maker who has been a vendor for five years.
Now that she occupies a booth in Sugar Magnolia, she is able to pursue her passion of making jewelry with pieces she finds all over the world.
Most vendors restock and add new merchandise weekly.
Sugar Magnolia is located at 1919 University Ave. in Oxford, Miss., behind Oby’s and next to the Tuesday Morning. Or visit their website at https://www.sugarmagnolias.net/
