African American Males' Perspective on Acts of Vandalism

Published

on

Early Sunday morning, two suspects came onto the University of Mississippi campus and hung a noose and an old Georgia state flag around the James Meredith statue.
This act has shaken up some students and administrative officials.
The Alumni Association is offering a reward of $25,000 for whoever may have any proof or knowledge of the suspects.
Dr. Charles K. Ross, Director of African American studies at the University said the only way the University of Mississippi will overcome and persevere from such acts is by eliminating all negative connotations and idioms that are attached to it.
Students across campus have spoken out against last weekend’s incident. The following video looks at the situation from the perspective of African American male students.
