Lueking Charged with Aggravated DUI After Death of Two Ole Miss Students
The Oxford Police Department released the following statement this morning concerning the single-vehicle accident that killed two Ole Miss students on November 9.
Oxford, Mississippi – In the early morning hours of November 9, 2013, the Oxford Police Department responded to an automobile wreck on Highway 7 near University Avenue. Two passengers, Christopher Grimaud and Kevin Eagen, were pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver and other passenger, Arthur Lueking and James Connors, were both transported from the scene for medical attention. All four young men were enrolled at the University of Mississippi at the time of the accident.
At 11:00am today, January 17, 2014, the driver of the vehicle, Arthur Lueking, voluntarily reported to Judge Mickey Avent’s offices, with his attorney, in response to a warrant that was issued for his arrest after results of a toxicology screening report were received by the Oxford Police Department. Author Lueking is being charged with two counts of Aggravated DUI. Mr. Lueking and his family have been extremely compliant during this ongoing investigation, as have all of the families involved in this tragedy.

According to AggravatedDUI.com, a DUI becomes aggravated “if you were involved in an accident and a person was injured, killed or you caused property damage…The same is true if your BAC was found to be much higher than the legal limit (on average .15% or higher).”
