Linn “Pap” Pang was honored as the Ole Miss Community Hero of the week during the Vanderbilt game. Mr. Pang has spent his life in service to his country and family.  Mr. Pang was born on November 6, 1912, in Marks, Mississippi.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served during World War II in the Pacific theater.  After he was honorably discharged, he moved to Clarksdale in 1950 to help his sister in their family business –– a grocery store.  Mr. Pang became a entrepreneur and framer.  After his brother-in-law’s death in 1964, Mr. Pang took an active role in raising his nephews and niece. He has been an adamant Ole Miss Rebel fan, as his nephews and niece all are alumni of the University.  The fondest Ole Miss memories for Mr. Pang are of watching Archie and the Rebels win in the Ole Miss vs Tennessee “Mule Game” in Jackson.  Throughout Mr. Pang’s long life, he has selflessly served his country and his family in their respective times of need.
