Ole Miss Soccer Drops SEC Home Opener: Rebel Roundup

OXFORD, Miss. – Texas’s women’s soccer team’s second trip to the Magnolia State went much better than its first trip.

The Longhorns lost their SEC debut to Mississippi State 1-0 in Starkville last week. They responded with a 1-0 win of their won against Ole Miss (5-7, 0-3 SEC) on Thursday.

Ashlyn Miller scored the lone goal of the match for Texas in the 65th minute of the contest. The Longhorns outshot the Rebels 22-6 on 9-1 in shots on goal. Ole Miss sophomore Grace Freeman delivered a shot on goal as time winded down but was denied by Texas keeper Mia Justus for her lone save of the night.

Ole Miss will return to the pitch on the road at No. 8 Auburn. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and will streamed on SEC Network+.
