Baptist North Mississippi-North Mississippi had a changing of the guard Friday, as retiring CEO/Administrator Bill Henning started his retirement and Brian Welton took the reins.

Henning has more than 35 years of experience in hospital operations and served as the CEO and Administrator of BMH-NM for the past 10 years.

In November of 2017, under his leadership, the hospital built a brand new, five-story, 600,000-square-foot regional referral center offering expanded healthcare services and facilities for patients and their families.

Welton, who officially starts today as CEO/Administrator, came to Baptist as a Frank S. Groner administrative fellow in 2012 and quickly advanced his career, serving as assistant administrator of Baptist Golden Triangle from 2013 to 2014, operations director for Baptist Medical Group from 2014 to 2017, and CEO/administrator of Baptist Crittenden since 2017.

Welton has a master’s degree in health administration and in business administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2010.
