Eating Oxford
Bottletree Pizza is a Bad Mo-Focaccia
This spicy pie is giving you the eye.
I’m old enough to remember when “bad” meant “good.” And I thus declare Bottletree Bakery’s famous focaccia pizza to be a bad mofo.
You can’t call it one of Oxford’s best-kept secrets; it’s on center display on the top of the counter every morning right when you walk into Bottletree, daring you to take on it’s piled-high mass of cheese, tomato, onion, ham, bacon, mushroom, bell pepper, and jalapenos. It’s practically strutting and posturing at you like the bad mofocaccia that it is. It’s got more flavor than the Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique album. And just the right amount of spice.
Don’t be scared.
In addition to the myriad goodies you should always expect at Bottletree, right now they have some individual-size pies in flavors of the season, including pumpkin and sweet potato (pictured below) and pecan.
