Fantasy Football: What Color Do You Bleed?

So maybe you’ve been a little busy.  What with the government giving up on us, Kim Kardashian naming her child after a cardinal direction (which still baffles me, even three months later), and Breaking Bad’s fan base (approximately 7 billion) having a collective emotional breakdown, you’ve probably been somewhat pre-occupied.  And perhaps with all the chaos of the dramatic show conclusions and national monument closings, you need to find yourself again.  So go back to your roots.  Ask yourself, what color blood do you really bleed?  Sure, science says we all bleed red, blah blah blah blah.  We may bleed red, but when you really reach in there, deep down into the emotion filled caverns of your heart, what do you really bleed?  I’ll tell you what I bleed.  I bleed black and gold, and have bled black and gold since I entered this world.  I’ve been a die-hard New Orleans Saints fan since I could talk, and football has always been a part of my life.  But where would the fun be if we all bled black and gold? Some of us hail from the great state of Texas, where the Cowboys of blue and silver meet the Texans of red and blue.  One of the most involved fan bases in football comes from the blistering cold up North, where green and yellow reign supreme.  Or perhaps your blood runs orange and blue with the mighty Chicago River, straight into Lake Michigan.  Wherever you come from, whatever color you bleed, we thankfully have a way to combine them all together: Fantasy Football.

My name is Taylor Lust and I am in my third year of fantasy football.  I was champion my first year, made it to the playoffs my second year, and am currently tied for first place in my main league this year.  I never really considered myself one for statistics, but I suppose you have to make changes for the things you love.  Numerous questions are asked throughout the seasons.  For instance, who should you play? Russell Wilson, a talented young quarterback, who can easily handle himself in and out of the pocket, against a formidable defensive seven in the Dallas Cowboys? Or, maybe you should stick with the ever consistent Matt Ryan against a subpar Vikings secondary? Should you give the uncertain Trent Richardson a go against a pee wee like Jacksonville team, or should you put your faith in the veteran Adrian Peterson against a stellar New York Jets defensive line?  I come to you here in this blog offering my very best tips, opinions, advice, and anything else you may need regarding your team.  I’ll be writing recaps of previous weeks, previewing upcoming weeks, and writing start ‘em sit ‘ems.  So please, indulge yourself.  If you haven’t created a team yet, do it.  If you have, I wish you the best of luck in your upcoming season.  Get that blood flowing, whatever color it may be.
