OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss baseball team pulled in another highly-rated recruiting class for the upcoming season with the latest group of signees who reported to campus ranked eighth nationally by Baseball America.

The crop of 19 newcomers is the most recent recruiting class to be nationally-ranked in the Mike Bianco era, with Baseball America tabbing it as the eight-best class in the nation and Collegiate Baseball magazine putting the class ranked 13th in the nation.

Ten of the 13 recruiting classes in the Bianco era have been ranked in the top-20 nationally.

The Rebels are coming off a 38-win season a year ago in which Ole Miss advanced to the NCAA Tournament with a berth in the NCAA Regional hosted by North Carolina State University. It marked the 11th NCAA Tournament appearance for the Rebels in the past 13 seasons and the 18th NCAA Tournament appearance in the history of the program.

Fans can come out and watch the group of 22 returning players and 19 newcomers this weekend with Ole Miss holding a scrimmage at 2:45 p.m. on Friday and the annual Red-Blue scrimmage at 12 p.m. on Saturday prior to the football game against LSU. Admission to all fall scrimmages is free.

Ole Miss opens the 2014 season with a three-game series at Stetson on Feb. 14, 2014.
