The Ole Miss baseball team will host its annual Red-Blue game this Saturday at noon at Swayze Field. The scrimmage is open to the public and will give Rebel fans a chance to see what’s in store for the upcoming baseball season.

The Diamond Rebels are returning 22 players from last season and adding 19 newcomers. Stephen Head, Director of Baseball Operations for Ole Miss, invites fans to come check out the team. “The Red-Blue game is a great way for fans to keep up with Rebel Baseball,” he said.

There should be plenty of excitement on the diamond this season as the Rebels’ incoming recruiting class is ranked 12th in the nation by Collegiate Baseball. Head Coach Mike Bianco has had ten nationally-ranked recruiting classes in his tenure with the Rebels.

Last year Ole Miss advanced to an NCAA Tournament appearance at the North Carolina State Regional and finished the season with 38 wins. This marked the 11th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 13 years for the Rebels and the 18th appearance in the school’s history.

The Diamond Rebels will continue fall practice through October and conclude with the annual Ole Miss Baseball Fall World Series. That best-of-three series will begin Wednesday, October 30th and continue through Friday, if necessary.

For those who love Rebel sports, Ole Miss is the place to be this weekend! “Swayze Field is a great place to stop and watch baseball on your way to the Grove,” Head adds.

Admission to the Red-Blue game is free, so have some fun at the ballpark at noon and then head on over to Vaught-Hemingway to watch the Rebs take on the LSU Tigers at 6:00 p.m.
