Theatre Oxford Holding Auditions for Ten Minute Play Fest

No preparation is necessary to try out for roles for 14th annual event.

Theatre Oxford is holding auditions on Sunday, September 8 at 1 p.m. at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center for the 2013 Annual Ten Minute Play Festival. The performance dates for the festival are October 24, 25, and 27. Roles are available for two boys ages 11 and 15, three teenage girls ages 13 to 14, eight men, and three women.

No preparation is necessary. Five plays will be produced. Scripts are available for perusal at the Powerhouse Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Theatre Oxford hosts a national 10-minute playwriting contest every year. The winner is announced in May after staged readings of the top five plays submitted to the contest are held. Then, in the fall, the winning play is fully produced along with four other 10-minute plays, mostly written by local playwrights, at the Ten Minute Play Festival. This is the 14th year of the annual contest and festival.
