Oxford Man Arrested After Passing a Bad Check for $7K

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department arrested an Oxford man Monday for passing a bad check for $7,000.

Blake Alward, 27, of Oxford, was charged with felony false pretenses for using a bad check to purchase a vehicle after a report was taken on Dec. 3. The victim filed charges against Alward after he attempted to cash the check

Alward was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $5,000 bond.
