Scrimmage Games Give Fall Football Preview
Oxford, Mississippi – The Oxford School District’s Athletic
Program will host over 20 north Mississippi high school football teams
during the annual Oxford/Ole Miss Football Jamboree August 16-17 at the
University of Mississippi’s Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The event offers
a glimpse of what high school football teams will bring to the field
this fall.
“Both public school and private academy teams will take to the
football field to scrimmage against each other,” said Oxford School
District Athletic Director Johnny Hill. “The jamboree gives high
school football fans a preview of what they can expect to see this fall
season.”
Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at the West Gate at
Vaught-Hemingway. Football fans will sit on the west side only of the
football stadium. Concessions will also be available during the
Jamboree.
The Oxford/Ole Miss Football Jamboree kicks off on Friday, August 16
with Oxford High School’s match up against Corinth with high school
football action continuing on Saturday. The jamboree schedule has the
following high school football teams lining up against each other in
gridiron action:
Friday, August 16
4 p.m. Oxford vs. Corinth
6 p.m. Potts Camp vs. Okolona
8 p.m. Charleston vs. Center Hill
Saturday, August 17
9 a.m. Oxford 9th vs. Saltillo 9th
11 a.m. North Pontotoc vs. Saltillo
1 p.m. Senatobia vs. Baldwyn
3 p.m. Winona vs. Lewisburg
5 p.m. Clarksdale vs. Cleveland
7 p.m. Water Valley vs. Philadelphia
9 p.m. Faulkner vs. Marshall Academy
