The following reports were made Dec. 10, 2019, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise noted.
Oxford Police Department issued 18 tickets, investigated 11 wrecks and the following reports:
1 911 hang-ups
3 alarms
1 careless driving
1 civil matter
1 code enforcement
2 disturbing the peace
2 domestic disturbance
1 harassment
1 improper parking
2 larcenies
1 lost property
1 motorist assist
1 scam
3 suspicious activities
1 suspicious person
1 trespassing
2 vehicle searches
Officers made the following arrests:
1 DUI, careless driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and no insurance
1 DUI, possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of a schedule 4 drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and no tag
1 public drunk and possession of a schedule 1
1 possession of drug paraphernalia, suspended driver’s license and no tag
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department made no arrests and investigated two wrecks and the following reports:
4 animal complaints
1 fraud
3 harassments
1 reckless driving
2 road obstructions
2 suspicious activities
1 welfare check
3 services processes
University Police Department made no arrests and investigated the following reports:
1 suspicious person
1 harassing phone calls.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
10:52 a.m. – Natural Products – burned food in a microwave activated a smoke detector
2:24 p.m. – West Jackson Ave / Chick-Fil-A area – wreck no injuries
7 p.m. – 126 Elm Street – smoke detector malfunction
9:31 p.m. – Residential South – burned food
