The city of Oxford continues to celebrate the Chargers’ first State Championship crown from the 31-21 victory over Oak Grove last Friday night in Hattiesburg.
The city is going to use the water tower on University Avenue as the backdrop over the next three evenings to display special tributes of the Chargers magnificent season run.
Oxonians will be able to see the tributes from 5-8 p.m starting tonight through Friday. Each night there will be a different image from the night before.
This season, Oxford finished with a 14-1 overall record. Coach Chris Cutcliffe’s team’s only loss came early in the season to rival Starkville back in August, but they got their revenge in the North Half Championship to propel them into Hattiesburg.
The celebration will continue on Monday night. The city is holding a celebration on the Square starting at 6 p.m. in front of City Hall.
