“A win is a win,” head coach Kermit Davis said. “I thought Seattle continued to play hard. Hats off to them.”

Ole Miss (4-0) was led by KJ Buffen’s 13 points and eight rebounds. His teammate Breein Tyree (10) joined him in double figures.

Tyree added five assists to his stats line with six rebounds on the night.

“(Tyree’s) first half playmaking I thought was his best of the year in one of his better games,” Davis said. “He got the ball out of his hands.”

The Rebels were up 42-24 in the second half when Seattle outscored Ole Miss 28-23 including a 17-2 run that happened in the last eight minutes.

“We had some guys in the game at the end that lost their way and would not compete, run offense, would not guard,” Davis said. “That’s what can happen at any time.”

Seattle held the Rebels to shoot 42.9 percent from the floor and 23.5 from beyond the arc.

“Our shooting percentage is still way low and we are still a work in progress offensively,” Davis said.

On Saturday, the Rebels will get sophomore guard/forward Blake Hinson back on the court for the first time this season against the Memphis Tigers.

“Hinson is at the best weight at 226 that he has been in his whole life,” Davis said. “We are going to play him in spot minutes and it will be good to have him out there.”

“(Blake) is like our energy and he is my guy,” Buffen said.

Ole Miss will travel Saturday to the Bluff City to take on the Memphis Tigers in the FedEx Forum. Tip-off is set for noon.
