Oxford Police Department issued 18 tickets, investigated 13 wrecks and the following reports:

6 disturbing the peace complaints
1 domestic disturbance

1 improper parking complaint

1 petty theft
1 public drunk
4 suspicious activities
1 suspicious vehicle

Officers made the following arrests:
1 DUI, speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia
1 DUI-second and suspended driver’s license
1 possession of a schedule 1 drug
1 suspended driver’s license and careless driving
1 suspended driver’s license, no insurance and no seat belt
1 warrant
1 warrant served and minor in possession of alcohol
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated one wreck, served one writ to take into custody and the following reports:

1 petty theft
2 road obstructions

1 suspicious activity

University Police Department investigated one wreck one report of reckless driving.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
7:27 a.m. – McDonald’s West Jackson – employee with chest pains – monitored until EMS arrived
11:11 a.m. – Hwy 7 South near Dollar General – a Silverado on fire fully engulfed – FD extinguished the fire
12:05 p.m. – The Chancellor House Hotel and Spa – tea room smoke detector malfunction
12:23 p.m. – Saddle Creek area – wreck with an injury
1:20 1 p.m. – Dollar General Hwy 7 South – medical assist
5:08 5 p.m. – 611 Commerce Drive – burned food activated a smoke detector
7:00 p.m. – 109 Glen Eagle Road – burned food activated a smoke detector
9:53 p.m. – Stewart Hall room 228 – heavy spray of air freshener activated the smoke detector
10:49 p.m. – Stockard Hall – people stuck on an elevator
11:57 p.m. – Gertrude Ford Center – heat duct detector malfunction
