Trick-or-Treaters will need to bundle up on Halloween with the temperature expected to drop drastically by Thursday evening; however, umbrellas may not be needed.
According to the National Weather Service, the rain will continue throughout most of the day today and into Thursday but is expected to end around 1 p.m. on Halloween.
The high for Thursday is expected to be 47 and then drop to a low of 31 at night. Frost is expected to form throughout north Mississippi after 1 a.m.
The incoming cold front will keep highs in the mid-50s and lows in the high 30s through Monday.
With Mississippi weather having a reputation for being unpredictable, in case the rain lingers longer than expected in the LOU community, Hottytoddy.com will announce any event that is rescheduled or canceled.
The city of Oxford does not traditionally “cancel” Halloween. However, neighborhoods can elect to host trick-or-treaters on a different night during bad weather. Those changes are typically announced on social media platforms.
