Site Plan, Plat Approved for Oxford Commons Fire Department

Residents and business owners in Oxford Commons can soon rest easier knowing that if there is ever a fire nearby, firefighters will be just around the corner.
The site for a new fire station in Oxford Commons was approved Monday by the Oxford Planning Commission. The commission approved the site plan and the final and preliminary plat for the fire station that will be located along F.D. Buddy East Parkway.

The city of Oxford will be purchasing the lot from David Blackburn and Louise Waller to build a new fire station to serve the eastern portions of the city.
The plans are for a one-story structure with 4,194 square feet that will 30 feet, 6 inches in height.
This site will have direct access to F.D. Buddy East Parkway approximately, 1,900 feet north of the new roundabout at F.D. Buddy East and University Avenue.
There will be two access points – one used as an entrance for pulling into and around into the station garage and the other as an exit for the trucks to pull out of the garage.
