Oxford Crime & Emergency Reports From Sept. 27, 2019
The following reports were made Sept. 26, 2019, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise noted.
Oxford Police Department issued 17 tickets, investigated seven wrecks and the following reports:

1 animal complaint
1 careless driving complaint
1 civil matter
1 credit card fraud
2 disturbing the peace complaints
1 improper parking
1 larceny
1 shoplifting
2 suspicious activities
1 suspicious vehicle
2 vehicle searches
3 welfare checks
Officers made the following arrests:
1 DUI and careless driving
1 DUI with K9 search
1 DUI and possession of a schedule 1 drug
1 possession of drug paraphernalia
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and suspended driver’s license
1 possession of drug paraphernalia, K9 search and speeding
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department made one arrest for contempt of court and investigated the following reports:
1 agency assist
1 alarm
1 disturbance
2 informational reports
1 petty theft
1 reckless driving
5 service calls
1 suspicious person
3 transports
1 vandalism
3 welfare concerns
22 service process
University Police Department investigated one wreck and the following reports:
3 suspicious vehicle
1 loud noise/music complaint
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
1:48 p.m. – Stockard Hall outside room 1021 – shower steam activated the smoke detector
3:10 p.m. – Elm Croft – alarm company testing the alarm system
6:42 a.m. 9/27 – Stockard Hall outside room 302 – alarm panel showed “dirty detector” – blew the detector out
