The Ole Miss volleyball team opens SEC play this evening as they host the Tennessee Volunteers at the Gillom Athletics Performance Center. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network.

Ole Miss (8-3) is riding an eight-match win streak – the longest in the league. The Rebels picked up two victories over the weekend against Howard and American in Washington, D.C.

Senior middle blocker Nayo Warnell posted 13 blocks in the nation’s capital and sits just 15 rejections from moving into third all-time for total blocks.

“(Warnell) had almost two blocks per set and she’s just climbing the record charts,” head coach Steven McRoberts said.

Tennessee (6-4) wrapped up non-conference action with a sweep in their home tournament. Three of the Vols’ losses have come against Top 25 including No. 6 Illinois and No. 5 Baylor.

“Tennessee is a really good team. In my opinion, they’re in the mix for an SEC title this year,” McRoberts said. “They had a really good run last season with a lot of players returning. It should be a really good match.”

Leading Tennessee is All-SEC performer Tessa Grubbs, who tallies 164 kills on the season and is the current SEC Offensive Player of the Week. Senior Alyssa Andreno tops the team with 36 total blocks, while classmate and current SEC Setter and Player of the Week Sedona Hansen guides the offense with 328 assists. Junior libero Madison Coulter boasts a team-best 143 digs.

Ole Miss and Tennessee have squared off for 55 matches in the all-time series. The Vols lead the series at 45-10. The Rebels last victory over Tennessee came in 2016 with a 3-0 sweep.
