The following reports were made Sept. 11, 2019, by city, university and county law enforcement agencies, unless otherwise noted.
Oxford Police Department issued 12 tickets, investigated five wrecks and the following reports:

2 ambulance assists
1 careless drivng
1 civil matter
1 discharging a firearm in the city limits
1 disturbance
4 disturbing the peace
3 improper parking complaints
1 larceny
2 motorist assists
1 other agency assist
1 scam
2 suspicious activities
1 suspicious vehicle
2 welfare checks
Officers made the following arrests:
1 public drunk
2 shopliftings
1 simple assault
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated two wrecks and the following reports:
3 alarms
2 civil matters
1 harassment
1 reckless driving
1 scam
3 service calls
1 suspicious activity
1 suspicious person
1 suspicious vehicle
1 transport
1 welfare check
Deputies made the following arrests:
1 grand theft warrant
1 suspended driver’s license
1 contempt of court warrant
1 writ to take into custody
1 sexual battery warrant
University Police Department investigated two wrecks and the following reports:
1 EMS requested due to intoxicated person
2 ambulances needed
1 malicious mischief
1 harassment
1 simple assault
1 disturbance
1 loud noise complaint
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls:
7:12 a.m. – Northgate B #203 – shower steam activated the smoke detector
8:25 a.m. – Lexington Pointe Apts. Gym – male with chest pains – he was not having pains when FD arrived – monitored until EMS arrived
12:11 p.m. – Highland Square Apts. Office – smell of gas – checked the area with gas monitor and nothing was found
1:04 p.m. – 170 Eagle Pointe Loop – resident was transferring alarm service to their new residence and the alarm company failed to put this alarm in test mode
1:46 p.m. – Heritage Apts. #253 – resident having chest pains – EMS arrived at the same time as FD
5:48 p.m. – 1438 North Lamar area – subject hit by a vehicle – he was fine and refused medical care
1:36 a.m. 9/12 – 100 U Club Cove Apt. 342 – cooking fire contained in a pot was carried outside, firefighters extinguished the fire
