Brady Bramlett, associate director of development/annual giving and former Ole Miss baseball pitcher, shined on the dance floor of the BancorpSouth Arena in Tupelo at the Dance Like the Stars last weekend when he and his dance partner took home first place.
Bramlett was partnered with Tammy Wilson of The Dance Studio in Oxford and Tupelo who performed a tango mixed with a Paso Doble to “…Ready For It?” by Taylor Swift.
The annual Dance Like the Stars event, which raised $224,740 this year, benefits the Boys & Girls Club of North Mississippi. Bramlett said he and his partner raised $18,261 for the cause.
Prior to taking the dance floor, he said his adrenaline was pumping like he was about to take the mound for a Friday night SEC matchup. He even had a few familiar faces around to share the moment. Ole Miss baseball head coach Mike Bianco, who served as the event’s university representative in the 2018 Dance Like the Stars, and his family were in attendance.
“The preparation for it felt like a game day,” Bramlett said. “It was an incredible experience as the arena was packed out.”
Taking the floor with Wilson, a dance teacher and coach, made it easy to train for the competition, he said.
“[Wilson] choreographed the whole routine by asking me along the way for my input on the dance,” he said.
“I am blown away by everyone’s generosity to such an amazing organization,” Bramlett said.
