Abbeville Man Charged With Making Threats Against Police; Little Caesars
An Abbeville man faces charges after making threats of threats of violence against police and employees at Little Caesar’s Pizza.
On Aug. 16, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to Little Caesars on University Avenue for a report of a man causing a disturbance. Once officers arrived, they discovered an assault had taken place.

The suspect, Clay Tatum, 37, of Abbeville fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers discovered him in his vehicle shortly after driving on Highway 30. Officers pursued Tatum until the pursuit was deemed too dangerous and ended the chase.
Arrest warrants were issued for Tatum and attempts to get him to turn himself in where unsuccessful. According to OPD, Tatum made multiple threats to shoot law enforcement officers if they attempted to arrest him.
On Aug. 19, Tatum called the manager of Little Caesars and made violent threats toward Little Caesars. The US Marshals took over the search for Tatum and located him in Memphis. The US Marshals transported him to the Lafayette County Detention Center after waiving extradition. Tatum was charged with felony fleeing and making terroristic threats. He was given a bond of $250,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
