While many candidates running in state and local elections in Lafayette County have three months before people head back to the polls to decide their fate, several local supervisor candidates have just 20 days before the nail-biting election day returns.
Three Lafayette County Supervisor District races will head to a runoff election on Aug. 27.
In District 1, Republican candidates Harold Brummett and Andy P. Clay will be on the runoff ballot. The winner will face Democratic candidate Brent Larson in November.
In District 2, Democratic candidates Ava Halon Bonds Gossett and Joshua McGlawn will head to the runoff election with the winner taking on Larry Gillespie who won the Republican ticket during Tuesday’s primary election against Chad Mills.
One incumbent, District 4 Supervisor Chad Mclarty will be in the runoff election when he goes head-to-head with Duncan M. Gray on Aug. 27. The winner will join Republican Derek Mooney on the November ballot. Mooney had no other Republican candidates in his race.
