3 Juveniles, 1 Adult Charged With Shooting at Oxford Homes
The Oxford Police Department arrested four males this week in connection with shooting guns into several Oxford homes and vehicles.
According to investigators, at about 1 a.m. July 17, officers responded to 1711 Anderson Road for a reported shooting. When officers arrived they found out that an apartment had been shot at multiple times.
The officers came in contract with four “suspicious” males near the scene who had guns in their vehicle; however, there was not enough evidence to arrest the males at that time.
Later that morning, another call came in from residents on Olive Branch Way who said their house and cars had been shot.
Investigators sent the firearms confiscated from the earlier suspects and sent them to the Mississippi State Crime Lab that confirmed the guns were used in both shooting incidents.
Arrest warrants were issued for Lakreston Willingham, 24, of Water Valley and three male juveniles. Each was charged with three counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling.
The four suspects were booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center on bonds of $150,000 each, including the three juveniles who are being charged as adults. However, the names will not be released until when and if they are officially indicted as adults by a grand jury.
No injuries were reported.
