Gertrude Ford Blvd. Southbound Lane Closures Expected Until Aug. 31
Drivers traveling south on Gertrude Ford Boulevard may have to find alternative routes to their destinations after the university announced plans for lanes closures beginning soon.
Closures of the southbound lane on Gertrude Ford Boulevard, near the University Avenue bridge, are expected during the construction of a retaining wall on the University of Mississippi campus starting today.
According to officials, construction began at 7 a.m. today and is expected to continue through Aug. 31.
During that time, closures of the southbound lane are anticipated. Flaggers will be positioned at both ends of the closure to direct traffic and keep the flow of motorists moving.
City Engineer Reanna Mayoral said in a previous interview with Hottytoddy.com that there is a gas line under the road and that closing the road would be safer during construction.
The Oxford Board of Aldermen voted at their March meeting to allow the road to be closed; however, they changed dates to July 1-July 31 with the stipulation that Chucky Mullins would remain open after the project was complete and that All American Drive would remain open during the duration of the Gertrude Ford Boulevard project.

May I just say what a relief to uncover somebody that actually understands what they are discussing over the internet. You actually understand how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people must read this and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that you aren’t more popular given that you certainly possess the gift.
