Former Ole Miss softball pitcher Brittany Finney signed a professional contract with the Scrap Yard Fast Pitch team on Saturday. The team, located in Conroe, Texas, will take to the diamond for a 19-game slate starting on June 29.
Finney also reunites with former Ole Miss outfielder Kylan Becker. Over the last three seasons playing for the red and blue, Finney and Becker helped lead Ole Miss to 115 wins, three trips to the NCAA Tournament and two trips to the NCAA Super Regionals.
Finney dominated the circle for the Rebels with 18 wins on the season, ranking fifth in the SEC with seven victories in league play. Finney proved to be a put-away pitcher, racking up 129 strikeouts in 147.2 innings of work while walking just 31 batters. In addition to her pitching prowess, Finney continued to add pop to the Rebel lineup, ranking third on the team with eight home runs.
The Wichita, Kansas native found her way to Ole Miss after spending one season with the Oklahoma Sooners her freshman year. Once on campus, she provided pitching depth and power to Ole Miss’ lineup.
