As a mom to three young children, Jill Bell manages to make time in her busy schedule to serve as director of marketing and admissions at Regents School of Oxford where she finds great fulfillment in advancing the mission of the school. Her bright and welcoming personality often helps welcome new families to Regents.

“I am passionate about the mission of the school, which is to disciple students to love, serve and glorify God,” Bell said.

Bell’s three children all attend Regents, which is how she received the career opportunity. Her children started at the school six years ago, and she decided to join the administration as director of marketing and admissions two years ago. Bell’s duties include giving tours to prospective students and families, running the school’s website and social media accounts, and planning school events. She also works with local media outlets to share news about events and updates about the school.

“We just had our spring dinner for about 200 prospective families at the Jefferson a few weeks ago. In October we host our Fall Fest, so I help plan one big event each season,” Bell said.

Bell said she feels great pride in the Regents staff’s level of care for each individual child. Although her job doesn’t involve being in the classroom each day, she makes an effort to get to know each child she meets. This connection between students and their teachers contributes to an environment where everyone feels welcome. Regents has over 200 students in grades Pre-K through 12, giving them an opportunity to develop relationships with teachers and staff who have seen them mature as they move through the school.

Another big part of her job is helping new students and their families integrate into the community. Building relationships among families and teachers is an important aspect of Regents’ personalized approach to learning.

“Every kid is known by name, so they all feel a personal connection with everyone who works at Regents,” Bell said.

Bell said the school acts as a “light of the gospel,” which is a driving force behind her desire to share the mission of the school with the Oxford community.

“We are all about advancing God’s kingdom and the hearts of children,” Bell said. “We don’t just treat the kids as people to transfer knowledge to, it’s a whole child approach. It’s an academic, physical, spiritual and relational experience.”

Because of her own family’s experience, Bell has made it her mission to educate the community on why the school does what they do. She hopes to be in her position long-term to continue to make an impact on the children’s lives and the larger community of Oxford.

“We like to educate people on what is happening at Regents so that they can be a part of it. I think we are making a huge difference in the Oxford community,” Bell said.
