Officers made the following arrests:

2 minors in possession of alcohol
1 noise violation-vehicle
1 possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and two warrants
1 possession of drug paraphernalia and noise vehicle
2 public drunks
2 shoplifting
1 violation of a protection order
2 warrants
Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated five wrecks and the following reports:

Deputies made the following arrests:
1 DUI, public drunk and no driver’s license
1 aggravated assault
1 disorderly conduct, speeding, no driver’s license, DUI and contempt warrant
University Police Department conducted six traffic stops.
Oxford Fire Department firefighters responded to the following calls:
5/24 – 3:16 p.m. – Taylor Bend Apt. 2493 – cooking fire, sprinkler system activated extinguishing the stove fire
5/24 – 4:56 p.m. – Soul Fish Cafe – smoke detector malfunction
5/24 – 6:12 p.m. – 137 Twin Gates – cooking fire confined to the container
5/25 – 7:54 a.m. – East Jackson / Bramlett area – squirrel got into the power lines causing the line to arc
5/25 – 10:15 a.m. & 2:39 p.m. – Oxford Health & Rehab – resident pulled a fire alarm
5/25 – 10:31 a.m. – 203 Cherry Bark St. – cooking activated the hallway smoke detector
5/25 – 3:43 p.m. – Haven House – medical call no ambulances available – provided first aid
5/26 – 1:03 p.m. – BMH – smoke detector activation in sterile processing room – arrived on scene, met by security who stated they had already reset the alarm
5/27 – 8:44 a.m. – Croft Institute – stairwell smoke detector malfunction
5/27 – 8:58 a.m. – BMH – call canceled
5/27 – 4:08 p.m. – 202 Town Center Dr. Highland Square Apts. – caller advised the pine straw in flower bed was on fire – call unfounded – no fire upon arrival – caller could not be reached by phone
5/27 – 11:20 p.m. – Wilson Art – upon arrival security met FD and said it was a false alarm
